Explanation – Now With More

The “Now With More” process is a service product that I offer. Basically, it takes an older article, webpage content, story, or blog post and spruces it up. It brings new life to older content.

Old information or outdated information requires content to be updated. It keeps your website (or even print material) fresh and current. It also helps maintain the trust and authority of your website.

In this example, I took the “About the Founder Page” from our website when I was in the mission field. I wrote the original article in 1999/2000. It was a part of my very first website creation.

What I did was freshen it up and apply some new SEO techniques, as well as break up the text. I have the original article first, then the Now With More article under that for you to compare.

This is just a tiny example, and the process can be used on any content, no matter the length.

About the Founder

Photo of Jimmy Laverty in 1992

James Bradley Laverty – or commonly known as Jimmy, founder of Isaiah 61 Family Ministries, was an active member of Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle on Long Island, New York before he began his missionary work. He worked with the Royal Rangers as well as with a Boy Scout Troop. God spoke to Jimmy in November of 1990 to “sell his house and go into full-time missions!” This took until September of 1991 when he traveled to the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Training Center in Lindale, Texas where he completed his Discipleship Training School, School of Evangelism, and School of the Bible – two years in all. There were several practical training experiences as a part of the learning process. Jimmy traveled two times to Brazil, one trip to Belize and another to Juarez, Mexico.

During an outreach to Brazil in January and February of 1992, God spoke to Jimmy about returning to work with the street children and the poor in the coastal cities of Santos and São Vicente. This calling was confirmed on the second trip to Brazil in August 1992.

In July of 1993, after completing Bible School, he moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where he studied Portuguese and immersed himself in the culture while working at the YWAM ministry center there. From August to November of 1995 Jimmy traveled to Belo Horizonte to attend a Leadership Training School at the main YWAM training center in Brazil.

On November 5th, 1995 he finally made the long-awaited move to Santos to start fulfilling the vision that God had given him over the previous years. It was simply known as the Santos Street Kids Project and a sub-base of YWAM São Paulo. Later we changed the name to Isaiah 61 Ministries of YWAM Baixada Santista.

Today Isaiah 61 Family Ministries trains Christians to work with the families and children in the slums as well as those on the streets of Baixada Santista.

About the Founder

Jimmy Laverty

James Laverty – more commonly known as Jimmy, founder and pioneer of Isaiah 61 Family Ministries, was an active member of Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle (SGT) on Long Island, New York before he began his missionary journey.

During his years at SGT, he worked with the Royal Rangers, helped with other child and youth events, and volunteered where needed.

God spoke to Jimmy late one night in November of 1990 to “sell your house and go into full-time missions!” Excitement filled the air. It was an answer to prayer! It was the “Go…” of the Great Commission in Mathew 28.

Finally, in September 1991, he traveled to the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Training Center in Lindale, Texas, where he completed his Discipleship Training School, School of Evangelism, and School of the Bible – two years in all.

There were several practical training experiences or outreaches as a part of the learning process. Jimmy traveled two times to Brazil, one trip to Belize, stateside to Idaho, and another to Juarez, Mexico.

During an outreach with a team of 38 people to Brazil in January and February of 1992, God spoke to Jimmy about returning to work with the street children and the poor in the coastal cities of Santos and São Vicente. This calling was confirmed on the second trip to Brazil in August 1992.

In July of 1993, after completing School of the Bible in Texas, he moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where he studied Portuguese and immersed himself in the culture while working at the YWAM ministry center there along with the “street children’s team.”

From August to October of 1995, Jimmy traveled to Belo Horizonte, nine hours north of São Paulo, to attend a Leadership Training School at the main YWAM training center in Brazil. This came with a 2-year project to implement, which he fulfilled.

Upon returning on November 5th, 1995, he finally made the long-awaited move to Santos to start fulfilling the vision that God had given him over the previous years. It was known as the Santos Street Kids Project and a sub-base of YWAM São Paulo.

Later, the name was changed to Isaiah 61 Ministries of YWAM Baixada Santista. Then, one more name change when we separated from YWAM, although we maintained a good working relationship.

Today, Isaiah 61 Family Ministries trains Christians to work with the families and children in the city slums as well as those on the streets of Baixada Santista. The work with kids and families also continues with over 35 full-time staff and volunteers.

In Brazil, the ministry is known as Ministério Família Isaías 61, or MIFIS61.

I wrote that as if I was still there for the example. But the truth is I left in 2003 as God directed. The ministry continues today under the leadership of all Brazilians. They did make another name change, but the work continues and has continued to grow as well. That’s a legacy to be proud of.

On the original page, I did have other full-color pictures of myself with the kids in a few different settings. I would do the same with the new one. I did not include them as it wasn’t relevant to the lesson.

Yet in actuality, I may recommend photos or images in the revision, as well as Header Tags, Meta Description, Image Alt Text, etc.

You can see how the revised version was easier to read and more comprehensive. I filled in more details than on the original content.
